Almost nothing. Once you sign up, you receive a unique company code. Share it with your team however you normally communicate — Slack, email, or a poster in the kitchen. Employees download the app, sign in with Apple or Google, and enter the code. Done. TFV handles everything else: prizes, payouts, support, and the draw every Friday. Most companies are fully live within 24 hours of signing up.
Employees share their name, email address, and step count data with TFV. That's it. As the company admin, you see aggregate engagement stats — how many employees have joined, overall participation levels — but never individual step counts or health data. Employee step data stays between the employee and TFV. It is never used for performance monitoring, shared with employers, or sold to third parties. Step count data collected in isolation is not classified as special category health data under UK GDPR.
You can deactivate any employee instantly from the company admin portal. They lose access to the app immediately and are removed from the next draw. Their data is deleted within 30 days of deactivation. You receive a weekly list of new joiners for verification, so you always know who's active.
